i just read a book where the author talks about Maria Campbell as an inspiration and Halfbreed as a literary intervention against the Canadian canon. I haven't read it yet and want to. Did you find this copy while thrifting? RADICAL.
highly recommended! first came across "halfbreed" in university back in the 1990's and recently found a 1st print copy at the annual U of T book sale... stoked!!! excited to read it again... campbell is certainly an inspiring writer and addresses some very weighty and pertinent issues. here's some more info on her: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Campbell
